GREEK CHAMPIONSHIP NEARS CONCLUSION

10 Apr 2015

The Hellenic Rugby League Championship is drawing to a close and three teams still have a chance of being in the Grand Final.

Pegasus Neos Kosmos and AEK Kokkinias will face each other in two weeks’ time in the standout match remaining, AEK having claimed the spoils in round one. The winners look set to claim a finals berth.

Also in contention are Rhodes Knights, the reigning Greek champions, who are particularly strong at home and favourites to win both their remaining matches, hosting AEK Kokkinias and Pyrrihios Aspropyrgos, before the end of April.

The Hellenic Federation has noted a significant increase in crowds and media interest in rugby league this season and is looking for a further boost with the remaining league fixtures and the race to become 2014-15 champions.

Championship points so far:

AEK Kokkinias 12
Pegasus Neos Kosmos 12
Rhodes Knights 9
Aris Petroupolis 9
Pyrrihios Aspropyrgos 3
