Czech Rugby League Association
The Czech Rugby League Association was established in late 2005 with Official Observer status granted by the ERL in 2006. An overhaul of the Association in December 2010 saw the introduction of a new constitution and a general assembly formed by the founding Board members and representatives of the then six clubs. Full Members of the CZRLA are defined as clubs with voting rights at the general assembly; Associate Members are defined as clubs without voting rights. The seven-strong Executive Board serves a one-year term and is elected at the January AGM.
Strategically, the CZRLA’s medium term objective is to obtain membership of the Czech Sports Association and Full Membership of the ERL.
The Czech Republic has competed in international competition since 2006 at both senior and junior levels. From its inception the CZRLA has focused on junior development and promoting rugby league as a way to a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness with no-one excluded from participating or supporting on age or gender grounds. The Czech Rugby Super League comprises Full Members, with Associate Members developing at a lower level.
