A total of 78 players, many of them new to the sport, took part in the first University Of Ghana rugby league competition which encompassed six halls.

After 15 matches spanning over three days, the winners were Legon but only on points difference over Jubilee. Both sides won three of their five games, their match being drawn 6-all with Akuafo third on 10 points.

Titans Sporting Club, based on the campus, with the support of Ghana Rugby League Federation(GRL) presented trophies for top three sides and certificates of participation to all players.

GRL president Kareem Captan commented: “The competition proved to be a fertile breeding ground for talents and promises an even better edition next year.”
