Wales Rugby League held its third annual Cap Presentation Evening last Saturday at The Village Hotel in Cardiff.
Almost 400 people attended to witness 111 caps being presented throughout the night.
The event was split into two section, the presentation of regional caps first, where players who turned out for East and West Wales at under 14, 15, 16 and open age levels were rewarded.
Following that, there were presentations of national caps to Wales under 16s, 18s, Students and Dragonhearts players.
Wales Rugby League’s CEO Chris Thair said: “The Wales Rugby League Cap Presentation Evening has now become an integral part of our events calendar. “The caps and the event as a whole are fitting rewards to each player’s commitment to the sport, and to their families’ efforts in supporting this endeavour. With so many smiles and photographs on the night in Cardiff, it is nothing but a wonderful happy occasion for all concerned.
“We are extremely thankful to have so many talented people involved with the sport, and all of this activity is of course underpinned by fantastic volunteers such as team managers, coaches and photographers. I’m extremely proud to be part of such a family of people and together we’ll continue to move the rugby league forward in Wales.”
Cap presentations for the full Wales and Wheelchair sides will take place soon. Wales Wheelchair recently beat Scotland 72-0 and Ireland 51-16 to retain the Celtic Cup. They, along with Wales Students and the full international side, will be taking part in World Cup competitions later this year.
