USA Rugby League has snared their first major global sponsor in time for the 2018 Americas Championship, which will also act as qualifiers for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.
The University of North Florida, Jacksonville, will host two double-header rounds on 13th and 17th November 2018, and in the opening fixtures the host Hawks take on Chile, the winners facing either Jamaica or Canada.
The link has come about as the result of a working relationship made through the sport and is with Minelab, a global metal detector company, which will see them become the official title sponsor of the national side. Minelab, with over 30 years’ experience in their field, is the world leader in providing metal detecting technologies for consumers, humanitarian de-mining and military needs.
USARL board member, Steve Williams, welcomed the partnership. “We are delighted to bring Minelab on board as the official title sponsor of the Hawks for the 2021 RLWC qualifiers. The relationship came as a result of the USARL being introduced to Fraser Kendall, Minelab’s general manager – ANZ & East Asia, at last year’s World Cup in Townsville.”
Minelab’s head of global marketing, Michelle Meyers, added: “We are really excited to be supporting the US national team this November. We wish the squad all the best for their upcoming pool match against Chile and hopefully a ticket to the decider.”
