Serbia will host Greece in a senior women’s International on 11 November 2023 for world ranking points in the Serbian town of Bojnik, 300km south of the capital Belgrade. It will be the second occasion the sides have met, having faced each other in last year’s Women’s Euro B South decider, which saw Greece triumph 28-0 in Athens.
“We are looking forward to a rematch with our friends from Greece,” said Slobodan Manak, Serbia women’s head coach. “It will show us how much the girls have progressed. They are eager for more opportunities to play and compete on the international stage and this is what we need to bring more girls and women into our sport in Serbia.”
“This is a very important match for us and despite beating Serbia last year, we will not be taking them lightly,” noted George Stilianos, president of the Greek Rugby League Federation. “We know they will be looking to get their revenge. Our expanded women's domestic competition will have started by then and there will be some fierce competition for places in the national team.”
