Men’s side Beluga and women’s team Baleen retained their Uganda domestic championships after the respective Grand Finals, held at the Elite Stadium in Kampala. 

Baleen overcame Dolphins 42-4, fullback Sarah Alanyo leading the way with four tries and three goals. Co-captain Alanyo said: “I was so impressed with our performance especially as we were missing a few players. Our teamwork saw us triumph and the side never gave up.”

Dolphins team manager, Dorothy Nalawanga, commented: “Our young stars displayed great talent and we are definitely learning as a group and getting better.”

In the men’s match, Beluga defeated Waves 32-4, Beluga fullback and captain Isaac Mutyaba crossing for three tries as did winger Benarnard ⁠Mubangizi. “We are appreciative of our journey and the challenge set by Waves,” said Mutyaba. “There has been great improvement from last year and we are already looking forward to next season.”
