The inaugural Rugby League Masters Euro Fest will be held in Ireland on 2 August 2025, when Leinster Warriors host teams from across the world at Malahide Rugby Club. The tournament, which is for players over 35, has already attracted twelve sides from six countries including representatives from England, Wales, Australia, Scandinavia and across Ireland.
The clubs will be drawn into groups for round-robin 13-a-side matches, with organisers planning for a further six teams to take part, and the draw seeded so that clubs do not play others from their own country where possible to enhance the cultural experience.
Craig Best, chairman of Masters Rugby League Ireland, commented: “Leinster Warriors and RLI Masters are hugely excited to be hosting the first-ever Euro Fest event. It’s a massive opportunity to grow Masters Rugby League especially in countries where it has never been played. It would be the hope that the concept will be embraced and taken to other places in the future.”
As is Masters tradition, all games use a series of different coloured shorts to signify the level of contact and formally end in a 0-0 draw, with participation and enjoyment being the key elements and the focus on participation and friendship.
Entry is €100, with teams responsible for their own transport to and accommodation in Ireland. Expressions of interest are via [email protected] or Whatsapping Craig Best on +353858 771295 with more information available on www.leinsterwarriors.com/coming-soon-01
