
Rugby League Federation Ghana, led by president Madam Juliana Storey, visited the director-general of the National Sports Authority, Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, in Accra.
The visit was to officially introduce the Federation’s leadership, provide updates on its grassroot development efforts, youth outreach, international partnerships, and upcoming strategic initiatives and to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration with the NSA.
Mr. Ampofo Ankrah warmly welcomed the delegation and applauded the Federation’s impressive progress. He commended the RLFG’s commitment to financial reporting, strategic branding, and operational diligence.
“The Rugby League Federation Ghana has demonstrated commendable professionalism and vision,” he said. “Their dedication to grassroots development, transparent operations, and strategic partnerships is exactly what we need in Ghana’s sports landscape. The NSA stands ready to support RLFG as a model for other emerging sports federations."
Madam Storey noted: “We are grateful for the warm reception from the National Sports Authority and the continued support of Mr. Ampofo Ankrah. Our mission is to grow rugby league from the grassroots up, and with the NSA’s partnership we are confident in our ability to build a sustainable and inclusive sporting future for Ghana.”
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Marshall Nortey, technical director of Rugby League Federation Ghana; Mr. Jafaru Awudu Mustapha, general manager; Ms. Hilaria Wuaku, communications lead RLFG; together with Mr. James Odoi Wilson, Greater Accra technical director of the NSA and Hubert Leo Mensah, acting head, research, monitoring and evaluation unit, NSA.
