Wales Rugby League half-back Lloyd White says that he is looking forward to all four matches in our country’s autumn campaign. Wales’ first game is against Ireland at The Gnoll in Neath on Saturday 22nd October (kick-off 6pm) before they face their biggest challenge yet when they take on England, New Zealand and Australia in the Gillette Four Nations. White scored the winning penalty for Wales in their 12-11 success against France last year in Albi to give Wales this year’s Four Nations spot, and now he is determined to have a successful 2011 international campaign.

"It's an exciting time," he said. "Our game against Ireland in Neath will definitely show us where we are now compared to where we were last year. That should put us in good stead for the Four Nations. "We only had a one-point win against Ireland last year in the European Cup. We're looking for another win on October 22nd, we need to win really, especially going into the Four Nations tournament. We need to put in a decent performance against Ireland to start with. We then need to go up to Leigh and put a good performance in against England a week later. We've got this far now and we want to do well and come away from that game with our heads held high."

Following the two matches against the British Isle nations, White and Wales travel to London to face World Champions New Zealand. "I'm looking forward to the New Zealand game the most because it's at Wembley," he said. "Quite a few of my family and friends will be going to that one so it'll be an awesome day."

Wales then complete the group stages of the Gillette Four Nations when they take on Australia in Wrexham, the ground that White has played at for the past two years with the Crusaders. White, along with all the other Crusaders players, was released by the club after they recently dropped out of Super League then went into liquidation. However the 22-year old says that he can't wait for the Wrexham encounter. "It won't be strange at all to go back there at all, " he said. "I think it's awesome that we've still got a game there. We've got many loyal fans in North Wales, they deserve a game up there especially after everything so I'm really looking forward to going to the Racecourse and playing for Wales."

Before he was born, White's uncle Phil Ford, when playing for Great Britain, became famous for scoring a length of the field try against Australia and White says that he would love to emulate his relative by going over the line on November 13th. "I don't know if I'm as fast as him," White admits. "But it'll be great to get a try against them, no matter where it was from." Following the Four Nations, White will be following in the footsteps of other famous Welshmen when he starts training with Widnes Vikings in preparation for their 2012 Super League campaign. "It's exciting times for Widnes," White said.

"They've a lot of plans for the future and have a great set-up there. I'm really pleased to have a new challenge there. "They've got a good Welsh background with players like Jonathan Davies, John Devereux and Paul Moriarty who have played there in the past. I hope to follow in their footsteps as being another successful Welsh player to have played for Widnes."
