Following two weeks of intense battle, it took the final match of the series to decide the College 9's champion as using home advantage, G.C. Foster College got the better of Mico University College to win the title on goal difference. Both teams ended the tournament with 19 points each after recording one win, one draw and one loss. However, a superior goal difference of +94 to Mico's +38 enabled G.C. Foster College to emerge as the overall champions. The University of the West Indies (UWI) finished third on 15 points, while the University of Technology (UTech), last year's champions, finished fourth, just ahead of Portmore Community College.

Going into the final game Mico were unbeaten and only needed to avoid defeat to take home the title. They had beaten UWI 12-4, UTech 16-10 and Portmore Community College (10-0 walk-over) and looked set to capture their first trophy, despite playing in the competition for the second time. The experienced G.C. Foster team came into the game knowing that only a win could see them winning the title, as the previous week they suffered an upset against UWI and in their first outing with the Mico team, they tied 10-10. G.C. Foster donned black armbands in memory of their former teammate Aldaine Lumsden, who recently died in a car accident.

They came into the game full of confidence after two impressive wins, 36-10 over UWI and 16-10 over UTech, while they were also given a 10-0 walk-over win at the expense of Portmore Community College, who turned up late for their game. Despite the presence of national players Romean Campbell and Oshane Eddie in their line-up, as well as having their vociferous home supporters cheering them all the way, for the first time Mico looked vulnerable.

Led by Soniel Augustus and Othniel Holness, who harassed the Mico defence regularly, it was no surprise when G.C. Foster took a 12-0 half-time lead. Mico tried their best to get on terms with their opponents in the second half, but G.C. Foster kept their cool and extended their lead for a huge 20-0 win.
