Campion College captured the Jamaica Rugby League Association’s Surrey 9-a-side crown after defeating Spanish Town High in tense finals played at Campion College on Friday December 03. It is the first time Campion has been to a school boy rugby finals and they made the most of their opportunity when Gregory Edwards and Joseph Kelly blasted their way to two superb tries in the second half.
Shannon Harris converted both. Takeem Creary had given Spanish Town the lead in the first half with a great solo try and conversion, but his team was unable to hold off a physical Campion team that played a flawless second half.

The U16 finals featured bitter cross town rivals Calabar High and Kingston College in another enthralling match. Both teams were strong in defence and the game was decided by a single score from Mike Williams of Kingston College who muscled his way through three defenders to score just before the first half ended. Calabar fought gallantly in the second half with play makers Adolph Gayle and Ronaldo Hastings constantly harassing the opposition defensive line, however, Kingston College stood firm to claim their first rugby league title.
