Two late penalties from Kenyon Woolery gave Mico their first title in an upset win over G.C. Foster. The Grand Final, played at the University of Technology grounds was a rip-roaring game, the sides coming in to it with similar regular season records having won nine of their ten games, the only defeats being to each other.

Defending champions G.C. Foster, however, were on familiar territory and started strongest when hooker Marlando Anderson released Ryan Spence down the right wing after only 58 seconds for an unconverted try. Mico responded three minutes later when Toyin Cross evaded two defenders to crash over in the left hand corner and he was in again soon after, Woolery converting both efforts.  

GC Foster stormed back when giant centre Adrian Myers powered across in the 21^st minute and the holders enjoyed an excellent spell of ball and territorial advantage. Speedy scrum-half Adrian McKenzie scored two quick tries, Grant adding the extras to both to give his side a ten point lead. Mico responded when Nickoy Allen was given space on the right side but GC Foster fired the last salvo of the half when Grant took an inside ball from a scrum and raced untouched for a try which he goaled to make it 28-16 at the break.

GC Foster opened the scoring in the second half when Stephen Scott kicked a drop goal but Mico readjusted their game plan and started to pin their rivals in their own half with some excellent tactical kicking. It paid dividends on the hour, Romaen Campbell unstoppable, Woolery goaling and, with seven minutes left, Oshane Eddie crossed, Woolery’s goal leaving a point between the sides as GC Foster looked to hang on.

But their discipline deserted them in the final five minutes, Woolery punishing them for Mico to snatch a dramatic win. In the third place play off between the University of the West Indies and Portmore Community College, UWI were victorious 22-16 thanks to a superb four try performance from Bahamian speedster Jordan Isaacs.
