Hat tricks from Josh William and Tom Blakey were the highlights as England Colleges won 72-6 in Brussels against a young Belgium XIII.
In all, the visitors ran in 13 tries - Lewis Mckissick with a double, James Forey, Adam Barrass, Cameron Bouller, Jake Ward and Sam Mason their other try scorers - and led 32-0 at the break.
EC head coach Dean Reacher commented: “The lads did really well, applying themselves on a really hot day and overcoming a couple of early injuries, the players adapted fantastically.”
“The Belgians did not stop for 80 minutes, credit to their team and their continuing development. A big thank you to Belgium Rugby League for welcoming and looking after us throughout.”
For Belgium RL president Yves Michael Kazadi: “The game was really dynamic and, for sure, our inexperience was a real issue. Even if the score is heavy we are proud to get into contact with such high level.”
“We thank the RFL for giving us that kind of opportunity for growth and, as a result, more people are aware of and getting in contact with the sport here.”
Belgium scored through Amin Amzaoui.
