Match report

EUROPEAN SHIELD GAME 3

Serbia claimed its first silverware in front of its home crowd, crushing a depleted Czech Republic by forty points in FC Radnicki, Belgrade. The visitors surprisingly got off the mark first through front row Tomas Holovsky, but three Serbian tries in eight minutes put paid to any feint Czech hopes. Michal Priputen scored on the stroke of halftime to keep it respectable, at 26-10.

The hosts scored immediately after the restart through their prolofic fullback, Nenad Matejic, and then went on a scoring procession of five four-pointers by the 66th minute. Czech scrum half Patrick Poledna repeated Priputen's feat, scoring just before the whistle to bring the match to a close.
