2008 RLWC PRELIMINARY QUALIFIER

Serbia were soundly beaten by a Georgian side, coached by experienced Englishman Vinny Webb, that was making its first foray into international rugby league. Merab Kuirikashvili was the star of the one-sided show, grabbing a hat-trick of tries, six goals and a field goal for a 25-point haul.

Serbia, yet to record a victory in international rugby league following its 2003 and 2004 Mediterranean Cup campaigns, scored a try in each half through Nenad Tomic and Zoran Pesic.
