SCOTLAND UNDER-18 FRIENDLY INTERNATIONAL
Scotland Under-18s pulled off a shock victory over England College at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon. Hull KR teenage talent David Scott (pictured), an Easterhouse Panthers product, was the catalyst for Scotland, scoring the opening try and converting it himself, then kicking the winning penalty in the last minute.
In between tries from Adam Mulkern and Ben Rowen and a Luke Warbottom conversion had put England 10-6 ahead before Glen Sutherland's try and Scott's conversion put Scotland 12-10 up. Warbottom's penalty five minutes from time brought the scores level at 12-apiece before exciting halfback Scott kept his nerve to kick the winning goal.
It was revenge for Mark Senter's team after losing 46-14 to the English in Cumbria in June but takes to half a dozen the number of wins Scotland have now had over different England teams in junior internationals in recent years. Scotland U18s now prepare for a tougher challenge against England Community Lions in October.
