Match report
The future of Rugby League in Lebanon and Malta looks in good shape after a full blooded, passionate Under 18s fixture between the two nations, played as a curtain raiser to the Phoenicia Cup.
A large crowd saw Lebanon take an early lead through Les Abdennour and begin to dominate proceedings, shifting the ball around with great pace and forcing the Maltese defence to be vigilant at many occasions in the game.
Malta played well despite the difference in class and scored a well taken try by Zac Demech, but they were no match for a determined Lebanese side enjoying the support of the Lebanese diaspora from Sydney and it was Lebanon who ran in seven tries to take the spoils
