CZECH DELEGATES OBSERVE RFL COUNCIL

20 Jul 2012

In a historic exchange, the RFL welcomed Continental European observers to its AGM for the first time in the organisations 117-year history. The visit to Hull in East Yorkshire by a three-strong delegation from the Czech Rugby League Association was a part of the RLEF’s Governance Foundation Project, which is aimed at improving the organisation of sport in Europe.

In addition to the formal Council Meeting, the ensuing conference included extremely sensitive topics at the heart of the game such as a detailed financial report and presentation on club licensing, as well as the future organisation of the professional club competition and restructuring of the multi-tiered community game. Some attending RFL delegates rated the AGM as the best one in living memory so it was certainly fortuitous that the CZRLA delegates were able to attend.
