Match report

On a cold a wet night in downtown Toronto at picturesque Lamport Stadium the Canada Wolverines played their final match of the 2012 season against a high impact high intensity England Lions side.

Over 5000 fans braved the extreme conditions to cheer on the home side in what would prove to be the toughest test of the 2012 season.  The Lions were dominant in the first half completing 90% of their sets and keeping the Canadians on the back foot from the off.

Wigan St Patrick's winger Tony Suffolk opened the scoring and the visitors didn't look back, with further tries from Oliver Johnson, with 2 tries and Jordon Precious, along with a solid first stanza from front rower Dave Dunwell laid the platform for a convincing 40 points to nil lead at half time.

The Wolverines were stronger in the second half and managed to cross over as winger Matt Pettie scored his first ever try as a Wolverine.  It was not enough however as the Canada Wolverines were defeated in the end by a final score of 4-68 by the rampaging lions.
