Spartacus Reds from the Gothenburg area won the Sweden Super 9’s held at the home of defending champions, Borås Ravens. Reds defeated the hosts 30-16 in the opening clash and went through the round robin competition undefeated, downing the West Coast Masters and, in the decider, derby rivals Gothenburg Lions 6-0 in a tense, hard-fought contest.

In the third and fourth place play off, the Masters overcame the Ravens. The tournament was principally a recruitment drive especially for the national squad which proved to be fruitful as there were a number of new players involved. Pictured: WC Masters against Lions.
