Match report

It was a day to remember for the Philippines as the Tamaraws came out on top of a tough battle with Malta on a warm afternoon in Cabramatta.

The Tamaraws were eager to get their first win over the Knights who last won against the Philippines in 2018.

The Knights took a 16-4 lead into halftime, but were always fighting uphill after Kyle Cassel was sent off in the 37th minute, leaving them fighting an onslaught from the Philippines with 12 men.

A later sin-binning for Kyal Greene made the task even harder and the Philippines won the Friendship Cup for the first time.
