Match report
Renewed English spirit wasn't enough to overcome the Bleuets in the second under-16 Test in Le Barcares. The French took a quick 10-0 lead before Paul Sculthorpe's men fought back to go into the break only 12-6 down.
Hugo Lescouzères try proved decisive, handing back the French a 10-point lead which the English were unable to overcome. At the final whistle the near 1000-strong crowd broke into an emotional rendition of the Marseillaise to pay respect to an exceptional achievement, beating the old enemy 2-0 in the series.
