Match report

SERBIA U19 v LIONHEARTS NORTH WEST AND CUMBRIA U19

Serbia completed their preparations for the RLEF Under 19 European Championships with a spirited performance against a powerful Lionhearts team, only going down by 10 points after a spirited performance.

Serbia had five players of Australian origin making their debut as they took on the visiting Lionhearts in the final of the Belgrade trophy.

The visitors made the stronger start and were 12-0 up inside 12 minutes, only to be pegged back by some thrilling attacking play from the hosts, with only a missed goal keeping the teams apart

The sides exchanged tries leaving up to half time, but England were able to power ahead through clever and inventive back play that saw Marsh and Meadows go over, with Sam Curwen completing an excellent kicking day with 5 out of 5 conversions.

Serbia brought the crowd to their feet with a late Mihaljlovic try, but it wasn't to be their day, with the final score 30-20 to the Lionhearts.
