23 Feb 2016

Since October 2015 an introduction program has started in Athens, in order to introduce Rugby League to school kids, with more than 500 kids having that experience until January.

After the first evaluation of the primary period of the program, two of the coaches’ tutors, Mr. Ashill and Mr. Pantazidis, together with the President of the Fedeeration Mr. Tzevelekos, have set a development plan for the near future.

Almost fifty kids every day or every two days, training in rugby league and this programme works as a “talent watch” activity.

The best kids and the ones who like it most, register in clubs/ members of the federation, in order to receive more detailed training and form teams.

The plan is to be ready in April or May to play the first youth tournament in Athens.

Protathlitis, Iason, Dias, Anagennisi, Pyrrihios, AOAD, Pegasus and ESDT, have already registered U18 players and the Board of the HFRL is scheduling the next steps.
