The Canadian Military Wolverines, a side comprised of soldiers deployed in Poland to support NATO assurance and deterrence measures, will play their second match on Saturday, when they face the Czech Republic at RLC Dragons Krupka Stadium in Teplice (kick off 4pm).

The match will be used for by the CZRLA as preparation before facing Norway and Ukraine in internationals later in the year. In their opening match, the Military Wolverines, who were set up in February, emphatically defeated a Poland Bisons XIII 60-0 (pictured). They have also been involved in development of the sport in Poland.

“This game is another opportunity to show off our sport and make it grow across Europe and overseas," said Jaroslav Bzoch, president of the Czech Rugby League Association. “While the Czech national team does not have soldiers in its ranks, many of them play in the domestic leagues so this is a great fit.”

“We are looking forward to we expect will be a challenging game,” said Warrant Officer Philippe Dessureault, captain of the Canadian military team. “We contacted the Czech Rugby League Association to see if we could plan a game relatively quickly and are glad that we managed to agree on a date. The Canadian Rugby League Association is fully supporting us in the process.”
