The 19 man squads for Scotland and Serbia have been confirmed for this Saturday's big qualification game for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. 

The group B fixture begins both nations quest to make the World Cup and will kick off at 3pm, 26th October, Lochinch Ground, Glasgow.

For Serbia, Stevan Stevanovic, known as the Serbian hulk, has been named as captain and they have a number of players set to make their debut which include Rajko Jankovic, a fulltime player with West Tigers, Ben Stevanovic and Daniel Marjanovic. Zane Bijorac from South Sydney Rabbitohs will make his full debut after playing for Serbia U19s just last year. 

Stuart Wilkinson Serbia Head Coach said "We have prepared well and are grateful to Wigan Warriors for the use of their world class facilities this week. We are now faced with a huge and exciting challenge against a Scotland who are regulars in the main competition and have beaten leading nations in rugby league such as New Zealand. We are proud to say we will have the most domestic players of any squad in these qualification games and there is great unity between the domestic clubs and the national team. We have supplemented this with first generation Serbians making their way through the junior ranks in Australia which makes it a very exciting blend and something that will create a legacy far beyond this global competition. Something I’ve always found appealing while coaching in any environment. We hope by playing one of the leading nations such as Scotland we can learn and grow from the whole experience.

For Scotland Callum Mclelland the only uncapped player in the squad is set to make his debut. Mclelland was a rising star in rugby league circles before he moved to Edinburgh as a young 17 year old to play rugby union, going on to play for Scotland in the U20s World Cup. He returned back to rugby league by signing with Leeds Rhinos and was loaned out to Featherstone where he played most of the 2019 season.

Scotland versus Serbia is the first of three games in Group B which includes Greece. Following these games the top two nations will qualify for the sixteen team men’s tournament in 2021.
