Spain v Ireland Preview

Spain and Ireland have confirmed their 19 man squads for this Saturday's big qualification game for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup to be staged in England. 


The group A fixture Spain versus Ireland kick offs at 5pm local time, 26th October at La Ciutat De L'esport, Valencia. The game will be streamed live on the You Tube by Canal PMC Valencia and can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHiI25RoR6_nP6FBs08JjRg/live

* Domestic Quota (DQ) Players. Both squads have 4 DQ players each. 


Spain's Romain Franco, a fulltime player with Catalans Dragons is set to make his debut for Spain and joins his cousin Luc Franco in the squad who played a pivotal role in the previous qualification games. 


Alex Doutres from French club Palau will once again lead the Spain national team as captain, with fellow long serving Danny Garcia from Warrington club Crosfields ARLFC named vice captain. 


Ireland, Spain and Italy are in Group A of the qualifiers and the nations which finish as the top two will qualify for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. 


Following Spain v Ireland the remaining games in group A are:


Italy v Spain, 4pm KO 2nd Nov, Stadio Communale G. Teghil, Lignano 


Ireland v Italy, 7pm KO, 9th Nov, Morton Stadium, Dublin 


Both these games are set to be streamed live over the internet with announcements coming from the home federations in the lead up to the game.
