2023 Rugby League 13s Championship Kicks Off with Thrilling Matches

The Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG) kicked off the 2023 Rugby League 13s Championship on 23rd April 2023 at the University of Ghana Ajax Park with defending champions Skolars starting the season on a good note, defeating Tigers 22-16. Bulls RLFC, runners-up of last season's championship, also won their first match against Panthers by 22-4. 

The season will feature 5 clubs, namely Accra Panthers, Nungua Tigers, Bulls RLFC, and Ghana Skolars, who will battle for glory once again.

This season will also introduce the Respect Man-Of-Match award. Winners of each match will be given a branded Respect shirt, a shaker, and supplements from Respect.

Riddick Alibah, the Greater Accra Regional Manager, expressed his delight at the turnout and the improvement in the play. He also stated.

Speaking to the CEO of Respect Health, Mr Tycho Kievit, this is what he had to say; "We are excited to see the growth of rugby league in Ghana and are committed to supporting its development."

Selorm Kuwornu, the Brand Marketing Manager, commented, "As a brand, Respect is proud to support the Rugby League 13s Championship and we look forward to seeing the performances of the players throughout the season."

The league season will continue every Sunday and span for 10 weeks. The Accra Bears RLFC will play their debut match against Accra Panthers as the first game, while Bulls RLFC will take on Tigers in the second game on April 30. Kick-off is at 1:00 pm at the University of Ghana Ajax Park
