Montenegro and Serbia have named their squads for the men’s senior international that takes place tomorrow, Saturday, at the FC Arsenal Stadium in Tivat (kick off 7pm, local time).
Montenegro coach, Ian Giddings, noted: “Having Serbia arrive here for the opening game of our season is certainly a challenge that we are greatly looking forward to. We are looking to improve on our last outing against Malta. Our players are very eager to test themselves against the powerhouse of Balkan rugby league.”
Serbia include six U19 players - Luka Bojcic, Luka Stosic, Luka Trifunovic, Jovan Loncar, Mihajlo Markovic, Silver Zenuni - and four from their U21s, Aleksa Zivojinovic, Enis Bibic, Luka Ilic, Strahinja Stoiljkovic, in a young squad.
“We have a squad with a lot of players who are our future, and this will be great test for them,” said SRLF general secretary, Vladan Kikanovic. “Regardless of the composition of the team, the Serbian jersey obliges every player to give the maximum.”
The Serbs include one non-domestic quota player, Bojan Cecaric from London’s Wests Warriors RLFC, on debut.
The match will be live streamed on Serbian Rugby League’s Facebook page.
