Kenya will host Nigeria in the MEA women’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers later this year, as they aim to become the first African nations to qualify for the tournament proper.

The two matches will be played at the Impala Club Rugby Grounds in Nairobi on September 19 and 22 (both kicking off at 4pm local time), with the winners on aggregate score going through to the 2025 World Series, the final qualifying hurdle.

Kenya Rugby League Federation director of rugby, John Mbai, noted: “This will be yet another historical milestone for the KRLF. We are delighted to host Nigeria in what will be a fierce duo of matches for the right to further represent the continent on the world stage. Women’s sport is growing and we are determined to play our part in that.”
