MAURO JOINS AZZURRI FOR SERBIA CLASH

21 Oct 2011

Serbia and Italy have named their 20-man squads for Sunday’s European zone world cup qualification match in Belgrade.

"This will be the biggest challenge in everyone’s career, both the players and for me,” said a sobre Serbian technical director Lee Crooks. “We are all looking forward to the opportunity of facing some great players with a vast amount of experience from the Australian competition. For us it is about our performance as both individuals and as a team. We let ourselves down a little bit last week against Lebanon, worrying about the scoreboard to much in the first half and not completing our sets which meant we had a lot of defence to do."

The task has been made even more daunting with Carlo Napolitano able to call up Vic Mauro, fresh from Manly’s grand final win in Australia. Crooks calls up Vuk Tvrdišić and Radovan Tajsić, replacing the dropped Milan Šušnjara and Marko Milenković.
