CHRUDIM ANGELS RLFC CZECH IN

7 Dec 2011

Despite the season having recently ended, the momentum in the Czech Republic has not abated, with the CZRLA presenting the Chrudim Angels Rugby League Club to the growing local scene.  Chrudim, situated 130 km east of the capital, Prague, played their first game of competitive rugby league against Vrchlabi Mad Squirrels at the weekend, losing 30-28 at the TJ Spartak Slatiňany stadium.

Club President Michal Vorlíček, who played for Pardubice Jets last season, established the club earlier this year and has been training his squad throughout the summer and autumn. Chrudim is the sixth club formed in the Czech Republic, which this season played its first formally recognised national championship, and the move heralds an expanding calendar for 2012, reflecting the CZRLA’s recently acquired Affiliate Member status within the RLEF.
