RED STAR BELGRADE AND HULL KR FORGE RUGBY LEAGUE FRIENDSHIP

8 Mar 2012

Red Star RLC has welcomed back three of its young stars to Belgrade after a two week trip to East Hull where they trained with the Hull Kingston Rovers Under-20s as part of a new twinning arrangement between the Serbian club and Super League outfit under the slogan 'Uniting Red & White'.

Exciting Serbian prospects Milos Čalić (centre/loose-forward), Vojislav Dedić (fullback/stand-off) and Vladislav Dedić (scrum half/hooker) (all pictured) were selected to spend time at MS3 Craven Park in recognition of their progress and dedication in their pre-season preparation.

Alongside regular drill and gym sessions with their Rovers counterparts, who themselves recently returned from a tour to Australia, the Belgrade boys also received guidance on personal health, fitness and strength training, as well as nutrition and lifestyle advice.

Hull KR initially linked with Red Star in November 2011, when they presented 15 first-team replica shirts to the club.

Red Star is hopeful that some of the Rovers junior ranks might now be keen to earn some game time in Serbia and that Rovers coaches could be enticed to join them to help advance game skills and knowledge among staff and players - and other members of the growing rugby league community in Serbia and the region - as well as help promote the sport, possibly with shared merchandise.
