GREATER PORTMORE HIGH WINS THIRD TOURNAMENT IN HIGH SCHOOL 9

The grounds of Spanish Town High school experienced Rugby League for the first time when they played host to the third tournament in the High School Rugby League 9s Championship on Friday January 28.

It was déjà vu again, as Greater Portmore High continued their excellent form by finishing in pole position for the third consecutive tournament. The boys in blue went unbeaten throughout the day before defeating a gallant Spanish Town High 8-0 in the finals. In an pulsating game Tevin Phillips and Dondrea Braham scored tries in each half to keep Greater Portmore as the only undefeated team in the championship. T

In other ranking games, Calabar High defeated St Georges College 4-0 to claim 3rd place, St. Georges College finished in  5th by taking care of Tarrant High 4-0 and Edith Dalton James ended the day in 7th place by putting away Vauxhall High 6-0.

The JRLA partnered with Hy-Lite Sports Mix to provide the hydration requirements of the tournament officials and players

The Championship continues in February with the fourth tournament scheduled for February 23.

2nd Spanish Town: 260 points

3rd Calabar High: 240 points

4th Campion College: 180 points

5th St Georges College: 170 points

6th Edith Dalton James High: 140 points

7th Tarrant High: 140 points
