From there, a round will be staged in Madrid, which will see the debut of the first side from the capital, Madrid Griffons CRL, with the remaining matches scheduled for Valencia which will see the entry of newcomers Torrent Tigers CRL.

AERL vice president Marcos Jabaloyas commented: “We hope the Wibo 9s Series will be a beautiful and matched competition as the first Spanish Championship was this past summer. It is very gratifying to see the enthusiasm of the new teams in development. Undoubtedly the Wibo 9s Series will serve to develop their game and we are studying also, along with other federations, the possibility to widen the international game with this format”.
