The home side, CRAC (CR Alcoià Comtat) won the first tournament in the new WIBO Spanish 9s series which kicked off in Alicante.

 Victories over the Madrid Griffons and Torrent Tigers see them head the standings after an afternoon at the Llometa Stadium attended by Rafael Climent (Mayor of Muro), Alex Llopis (Councilman Sports of Muro), Jaume Pascual (Deputy of the Provincial Council of Alicante) and Salome Sansano (President of the AERL), plus a good number of fans.

Tigers defeated Griffons to go second after the first of what will be six regional tournaments leading to a final.
