NANTERRE TO HOST RUGBY LEAGUE FESTIVAL

26 Jun 2013

This weekend the French Federation will host a festival of rugby league, featuring men's, women's and wheelchair version of the sport. The first European University tournament in Nanterre, outside Paris, will see a Paris university selection take on Italian and Hungarian sides in men’s and women’s rugby league.

The men’s category will take place in the Stade Gabriel Péri while the women will play in the Stade Jean Guimier. The first day, Saturday 29, will end with a match between France Universities playing their Australian counterparts, with the latter en route to the Student World Cup in England between 4-14 July. On Sunday the European competition will conclude.

The French and Australian wheelchair teams will also play a match on Saturday at the Centre Sportif du Mont-Valérien before they head to their own world cup, between 3-13 July in London.
