RLI BEGINS SEARCH FOR NATIONAL TEAM COACH

Rugby League Ireland is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the role of head coach for its national team, the Wolfhounds. The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- The identification and selection of players based in Ireland and abroad who are qualified to play for Ireland.

- The selection and preparation of the Ireland squad for all competitive and friendly international matches.

- The identification and selection of suitable coaching staff, in conjunction with RLI, for the Ireland Wolfhound A Team and the Ireland Student Team.

- The implementation of a ‘Coach the Coaches’ programme to assist in the development of indigenous Irish coaches.

- Assisting the appointed coaches of the Ireland Wolfhound A Team and the Ireland Student Team with the selection and preparation of the relevant squads for all international matches

It is envisaged that this appointment will take place in the near future and will extend up to and including the world cup scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom in 2013. Applications, along with C.V. should be sent to Gordon Matthews at [email protected].
